how to install new plugin synthesizer

How do I install a new plug in synthesizer within PTLE 6.4. I bought spectrasonics Trilogy and I would like to install it as a plugin within Pro tools.

This may very well be starightforward and maybe I am missing the obvious but I can´t find the solution. I copied the dll file to the plugins folder but in this folder there is no such thing as a dll file (....)


Yes I read TFM but couldn´t find anything.

As far as I am aware, Trilogy for the PC is VST only. You will need to get the VST-RTAS wrapper from FXPansion to use Trilogy with Pro Tools on a PC.

From the spectrasonics webpage:

PC: Windows 98 or higher, 300 mHz Pentium or
better CPU, sound card, VST 2.0 host or Pro Tools 6.1 or higher

So it should work.

How do you install a plugin in general?

This is probably a most obvious thing and a stupid question to ask but it doesn't work for me...

It looks like there was an update for the RTAS version. Check here for Spectrasonics updates. Make sure you have the most current version. You never know, the version you just bought could have been on the shelf for a little while.
