Default 3M Multitouch?

I've just been looking at the 3M 22" 20-point multitouch screen and wondered if the Venue/VNC software we're all using supports multitouch? That monitor would be a nice upgrade for me.....

Hi,

If the display requires any type of special drivers in order to enable the multi-touch functionality then it may not work. VENUE systems support regular displays and human interfaces via Plug and Play, and using any other third party drivers not included with the system is not supported.

Curious - what types of actions do you see multi-touch being useful for (as opposed to regular single touch screens)?

Sheldon

The use I was thinking was a big enough screen (The 3M) that would allow adjusting more than one fader at a time. The next use was adjusting some parameter at the same time I'm on that fader...

Just a question and thought I had, do you find that you actually would use the touch screen enough to warrant purchasing one? I find myself just fine with the control surface in front of me. It would be a lot more hassle (in my opinion) to have a touch screen. Just my thoughts tho...

I have gotten an ELO touch screen to work on a VENUE, but it was kinda tricky to get working...I had to jump over to Windows and install the drivers (AVID probably frowns upon this) but she worked.

This monitor looks awesome!
I can see this useful to ghost a foh console , to have a monitor console on stage. Still an iPad and app is cheaper.
The SAC software and computer based mixing racks will definitely eat this up. Some great vids of this monitor being used as control surface on YouTube.

Once it's lighter and bigger it would even be better. Next paycheck I'll buy one and hope to build a mount to pull it towards me while I'm on the couch and I'll test mixing protools and reason sessions with it.

Where is the dshow app?

I remember an old mag article about a facility that had large, custom made touch screens mounted horizontally in a desk They were using it to control pro tools. Pre ICON, C|24 days!
