Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"
OK - thanks for the control surface replies.
So I got these questions that perhaps the answers to can help me determine what's going on... Conditions assumed: 8.0.4 exhibits the issue, 8.0.3 does not Control surface not required 1. Simply opening a pre-existing session posts message YES/NO 2. Editing moves made? YES/NO Fades created/adjusted? YES/NO 3. RECORDING passes performed? YES/NO -tv

Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"
Thanks.
Oh yeah, I forgot the main point: if you get this message, you should save off the detailed session open notes to a text file and have a look. It will tell you the exact regions on which tracks at which times are affected (that’s what we added in 8.0.3). You can then have a look on the timeline and make sure there are no gaps (gaps in the timeline are how the result of this would manifest). Generally it’s harmless, (though harm is a relative term I understand) and is caused by regions that got obscured by their surrounding regions.....Checking the log will allow you to know for sure. You ARE seeing the option to save off the notes, yes? -tv

Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"
I got it....
something's up with the Undo not properly registering unreferenced regions.... Stay tuned. Hopefully this is only pointing to unwanted, uneeded region bits. -tv

Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"
Quote:
I think that's what's been happening in my case. The following is consistently if not 100% reproducible here: 1. Record on a track 2. Undo the record pass (cmnd-Z) 3. The undone (is that a word?) record file is still in the region list in bold at this point. 4. Drag the undone file from the region list back on to the track. At this point the filename in the region list is greyed out and becomes italic text. 5. The region in the playlist is empty with italic character filename. Or in technical speak, it becomes a "turd" 6. Save and close session 7. Re-open session and the "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted" message appears. 8. The text file saved out here looks like this: Quote:
9. Forgot to add, when the session is reopened, the greyed out file in the region list and empty region in the playlist is gone. As I said in an earlier post, I don't think anything is being lost. It's just a tad unnerving!

Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"
That's what we're seeing on our end - undo isn't properly removing file references, so nothing is being lost.
Keep the replies coming, just so we have further reference in case we're overlooking something. |

Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"
Sorry DTS, there are changes in region boundaries when reopening in 8.0.4. Please speak directly to Greg Robles regarding this. If you need to speak with me directly, he has my contact info.
