Default what about itunes & disc burner instead of toast &jam?

hi.
jus got the 001 system so im new at this.
i was told that my g4 466 had "itunes" to burn my audio & "apple disc burner " for back up.
Is this the standard ? or do i need "jam"& "toast" for these applications?
also are jam & toast free or will i have to pay?
thanks

Cane,

I have heard that iTunes creates some kind of incompatibility with the 001 and Pro Tools LE.

I think you're better off with the Jam/Toast thing anyway.

I use Jam with a Yamaha 8424 SCSI burner and it is a great setup. Very reliable. Jam is around $150 and well worth it. Toast is good for the CD-ROM stuff, back-ups and such. That is around, I think, $75.

Search in the Digi "Compatibility" section or this forum for the iTunes issue.

Good luck, Chris

itunes doesnt seem to create any problems on my machine ( G4 533)
Ive never tried burning music with itunes, but the data burning with the built in mac software is a drag.
It needs to create an image file before it burns a disk. This usually takes longer than burning the disk.
Toast is way faster.
Jam still rules as far as "real" audio buning is concerned

I personnaly had trouble trying to use CD Burner with my G4/667. I think it's a cheap app.( that's why it's free...).
Anyway, I've always been using Toast and have always been happy with it.
I don't think ITunes has a Disc at Once preference for example.
I read "Toast is good for the CD Rom stuff and back up". And I disagree. It's also what I use to burn Audio and it works great. And as far as "real audio burning" is concerned...? I don' t have the feeling that I'm burning "fake" audio...

I asked this question a few days ago. Do a search or save some time and just buy Toast Titanium, I did.
Cheers,

Mr T,

I think that itunes always writes disk-at-once. I've so far been unable to write any un-finalized audio or data discs, or do any kind of multi-session work!
