Pro Tools 8 Authentication?

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased Pro Tools 8 on ebay. (I'm sorry if this is the wrong section, but I couldn't find anywhere else to post it.)

Basically, I've been trying to get into the Setup Preferences to alter a few settings, but it keeps telling me that I 'have selected an item that is only available in the full verion of pro tools m-powered'.

I assume there must be an issue to do with product authentication - but how do I authenticate this product? There are no prompts for me do so and I can't find any kind of serial key inside the box.

What am I missing here?

Yeah you should be in the M-Powered forum, but did you get an ilok with the license on it? Whoever sold it to you should have provided it and transferred the license to your account. Sounds suspicious to me - like you may have purchased an unauthorized copy because usually PT won't even load without a license. If you didn't get a license - you should probably get your money back.

There was no ilok with the box, so I'll probably have to look into this further.

It's still useable, but I can't access half the functions in the menu bar which makes things difficult.
