BUG> Send doesnt mute when track is muted
At least on my Setup (current 10.3.8) PT HD and HD Accell 2
i have the following Bug: I am using few AUX tracks for different microphones as inputs which i route then to the recording track. Each of the AUX tracks has PRE FADER SENDS which feed REVIBE on another AUX track. When MUTING the AUX INPUTS (microphones) the PRE FADER SENDS are STILL OPEN and feed REVIBE!!! They should be closed too !! So far i remember in earlier Version was everything as expected which means IF AN AUX INPUT IS MUTED THE SEND IS MUTED TOO. in the Hope it get fixed soon.. regards

Re: BUG> Send doesnt mute when track is muted
it mutes if it is post fader, not pre
TB/FX are usually done post fader Cue sends are usually pre fader

Some analog consoles had internal dip switches which allowed this to be toggled, but the default behavior of PT is how it's always been done. Why not feed the verb from the record track? Then, only the sent mic will get the verb. |

Re: BUG> Send doesnt mute when track is muted
Just to concur, yup, pre fader sends do not follow the fader actions. That is why they are labeled pre fader. This behavior, as Drew has said, is common analog consol behavior unless a custom modification has been made.
Also, if you have any high latency plugins on those mic aux's you will feel the latency of those plugins when you are recording. If you record directly onto the audio tracks there will be no perceived latency. If this something that you already know and I am stating the obvious sorry for butting in. |

Re: BUG> Send doesnt mute when track is muted
It is necessary to function that way especially if you are creating a headphone mix and want to monitor and listen differently than the artist
However, I think what you are missing is that you can view the sends with mute, fader and pan on the sends view. Goto the view menu, and under the sends assignment, click the send name, like Send A for example, and you will see it all. So now you don't have to open each send fader to see if it is muted or not. AVID won't change the way it works. This is what most of us do and it is simple and easy. LEX

Re: BUG> Send doesnt mute when track is muted
I could find the option of muting pre-send aux at the same time as the channel beneficiary for those that needs it that way, but it should only be an option.
