Upgrades for faculty?

Hi there,
I have a faculty version of Pro Tools 9, bought/activated in mid-August 2011 (a few weeks before PT10). Am I screwed in terms of getting a free upgrade?

My guess is yes but maybe you should e-mail Avid.

Not to sound negative, but from my experience Avid's answer will be no.

I had the exact same question and contacted them and their answer was no (only student versions get free upgrades). The crazy thing about this is, that in Europe the upgrade is actually more expensive than a new educational copy.

Please let us know how it turned out for you.

I called Avid and they said no. Seems kind of boneheaded... I can't afford to upgrade after having just made an investment in their product a couple months ago, so I'm going to continue to work and teach on PT9. Seems like they'd want to get the latest platform out there via educators.
