Mbox 1 with Logic Studio 8

i apologise if this has come up before.
I've been using logic with my Apogee Duet for a while now, love it.
I've also just brought an mbox 1 and upgraded to pro tools 7.4.2 on my imac so i can get to grips with pro tools etc.

To save any trouble between switching soundcards all the time, will the mbox be ok wit Logic Studio 8? I've tried a few recordings, and it seems fine. I'm only going to be recording a maximum of 2 tracks at a time, but i'll be mixing some bigger sessions that i do at the studio.

I will probably turn to using pro tools mainly now, but i will still use logic to compose in, and i hope that my mbox will be fine as the main soundcard for logic also.

has anyone has any troubles with this set up?

If all goes well, i'm hoping to sell my Duet and get a bit of extra cash also.

It works. But you're stuck with Digidesigns core audio driver, and if I remember correctly, you won't be able to go below 512 in buffersize despite what Logics preferences says.

This should work. I have the duet too, and Im planning to sell it use Pro-tools only. Just make sure you have the required lastest drivers installed.

On a side note: where did you buy the mbox 1? I really need Pro-tools

I was the victim of the recent Logic Hype. Spent $500 Even Started few projects. I needed to retrieve some old PT sessions.. Wow.. what ever the Logic hype is .. i fell in love with ProTools back again. This interface is much more -- say "pro" like instead of Logic's "garage band" look. Although I appreciated the large collection of loops and instruments that logic bundles.

Any one fell in this "hole"??

I wont call it a "hole" as such, but I really wanted to try out this "apogee duet" thing just for the mic pres so I switched as one could not use the duet directly with PT...but I missed PT workflow/interface/speed so much. Logic really isn't my cup of tea.
So I'm looking forward to selling the duet/Logic8- buy PT (Is m-audio coming out with an octane pre audio interface thats portable like the 410?) and get back to doing some music again.

Why is Pro-tools so addictive?

Well, I had planned to upgrade my PowerBook to MacBook Pro ... this year. then I had an opportunity to purchase a PRS guitar at a good price..$1800. So my MPB dream went down. Instead I went PC. Spent around $1200 and built me a Quad Core PC.. PTLE/Digi 002 on this machine flies... I love it.. the interface "look" is little "ugg" but it is still ProTools. All my plug in works, as most NIs give you hybrid, and I began to love Strike on PTLE - just plug iLok into PC or Mac.

If I need a mobile recording - I take my PB 1.5 out with Mbox. Same session files. bring it back home and run it on PC. It is great. Can't do that with Logic. I will need to invest another 3000-4000 on a Mac Pro.

So far it is working for me.. I got my eyes on Eleven...heard that is a resource hog. I also have my eyes on M-Audio ProFire 2626 - but I need to upgrade to a M-Powered PTLE.. well..
