I/O Setup doesn\'t see 192 Dig I/O, Hdrw Setup does
I am running Pro Tools 5.3 on an HD2 system. I have one 192 I/O and one 192 Digital I/O. The Core card connects to the 192 I/O, and the 192 Digital I/O connects to the 192 I/O.
Everything has been running fine, but my system drive started going bad, so I had to move everything to a new system drive. I now have Pro Tools 5.3 running (excluding some plug-ins like Waves that have to be reauthorized). When I go to Hardware Setup, everything looks fine. I can see both the 192 I/O and the 192 Digital I/O listed as devices, and they are in the right order (192 I/O above the 192 Digital I/O). However, when I go to I/O Setup, the 192 I/O shows up, but to the right where I normally see the 192 Digital I/O, I see a square with Digidesign colors and a question mark in the center. So, the session isn't "seeing" the 192 Digital I/O in the I/O Setup...............even though it sees it in the Hardware Setup. I am getting no sound thru the 192 Digital I/O. The 192 I/O is working fine. How do I solve this problem? Thanks, Mike |

Re: I/O Setup doesn\'t see 192 Dig I/O, Hdrw Setup
The 192 Digital I/O is working now. So, things are functional, but the I/O Setup still doesn't know what the Digidesign device is.
Did I miss something in the setup? Thanks, Mike |

Have you tried trashing DigiSetup, DAE Prefs and PT Prefs?

Re: I/O Setup doesn\'t see 192 Dig I/O, Hdrw Setup
What do I do after I trash them? Are they recreated on a restart, or do I have to manually recreate them?
Thanks, Mike |

Re: I/O Setup doesn\'t see 192 Dig I/O, Hdrw Setup
DAE will scan your plugin folder and determine what you have.
You’ll have to redefine your Playback engine settings and preferences (at least those that were changed from their default settings). Your I/O config can be reimported, either from a saved file, or simply by opening a session which was saved while using your desired I/O setup. (How do you like that bit of circular logic?) Ten minutes - tops. It’s worth doing, IMO. Good luck.
