PT takes a long time to save.

I don't have a clue as to how my system has come to this, but whenever a session saves (including auto backup), PT just pauses there for a good 10 seconds. I gets pretty bad when working with projects that require speed.

I tried the ol' databases and pref dump. Anyone know of possible solutions to troubleshoot??

Do you have any VI samplers in your session?

Ones like Kontakt and MachFive save the samples that are being used in the plug-in when doing a save in Pro Tools, which is why it can take a long time.

If that's not the case, give us more info on what's in your session, what may have changed between when it was saving quickly and now, etc.

I have a session that does this as well.. I deleted the wavecache and cleared out all the unused audio files but it still takes a long time to save. I might just import the session into a new one but I wonder why it does this..
