Can M-Powered 7.4 Work in Win 7 64-bit?
Can Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 Work in Win 7 64-bit? I've made it work in 32-bit. Is it possible to make it work in 64? I couldn't find an up to date answer. Thanks. Also do all 3rd party plugins work in it as well?

Re: Can M-Powered 7.4 Work in Win 7 64-bit?
Michael, I am a little new to Pro Tools...I'm about 3 months into it....but I'm not new to recording with Windows... I use Pro Tools 8 (M-Powered) with my Window 7 64-bit, and what I can tell you is that, I had a hard time getting things to work right. In fact, I had to call Avid to get help. I also use other software (Reasons and Record) and I have problems with them too. Window 7 is not very friendly when it comes to music software... I bought a Focusrite Liquid Mix 16 DSP plug-in for Pro Tools and I can't even load the software, Window 7 get stuck every time!!!
So if can get PT 7.4 to work with Win 7, be careful when you choose your 3rd party Plug-ins!! I love Window XP, I had no problems, no matter what I loaded, but Window 7 is a pain in @$$, and can really hurt your studio capabilities. I hope this helps. Jimmy. |

The only version that is qualified for W7-64 is 8.0.4.
You may have luck getting other versions to run in W7, but that's all it will be; luck. Do yourself a favor, and upgrade to 8.0.4.

Re: Can M-Powered 7.4 Work in Win 7 64-bit?
Thanks for the help guys. I'm considering buying a 32 bit laptop, if i'm lucky. A lot are 64 bit for some reason. Going mobile.

Going forward, I would definitely recommend 64-bit.
