Default Pop in Audio Files - Pro Tools M-Powered

So not too long ago my hard drive acted up and I now have corrupted files. (RAM issue? idk.) But mainly my concern at this point is the corrupted PT sessions. Sometimes I come across some that don't open but luckily I have back ups. But in a lot of my sessions I come across messed up audio wav files with pops in it. In some of my mp3's which I got rid of, they had a more scratchy noise. Anyway has anyone had this happen to them. It's pretty frustrating not knowing what is corrupted. (I'm taking backup drives very serious now...)
