12.7 vs 12.6.1
Anyone else have radically better performance on 12.6.1? I just went back to a previous backup where my pro tools versions is the only difference. I have at least 25% more CPU headroom and everything feels much faster (bouncing etc).

Re: 12.7 Vs 12.6.1
Why do updates always take such a large step back?

I also get way better native performance on the EC/12.6.1 partition. In general I've noticed that 12.6.1:
Wondering when we're gonna see a 12.7.1 that addresses these issues. Should be in the next 2 weeks based upon their previous dot update roll outs. But who knows. Also - I realize that macOS 10.12.3 is not approved, but I've tried them all and there is no difference for me. Since I don't use it other than to test ... I'll wait for Avid to catch up. Hopefully soon ...

Re: 12.7 Vs 12.6.1
I suppose the easy answer is features use resources. Especially until they are fine tuned over time. That's one of the reasons I stay on 12.4 for critical work, and use the latest builds when I want the new features. There's no crime in moving around, using the best build for the job at hand.
It took years to get me to stop using 7.4 back in the day.

Re: 12.7 vs 12.6.1
Just as Tom we use 12.4 HD in the large studio room and now we have a second trashcan aswell in the writing room with 12.7 HD but installed 12.4 HD there too and that works way better than anything above HD 12.4.
On our Macbook Pro's we have both 12.4 and 12.7 HD and end up using 12.4 basically every session pretty problem free

Re: 12.7 vs 12.6.1
12.6.1 its Rock Solid here.
I tried 12.7 and problems started again, so I went back to 12.6.1 and I'm very happy. I don't pretend to move anytime soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 12.7 vs 12.6.1
I'm thinking about rolling back. Too many midi issues for me. I have installers for both 12.4 and 12.6.
Anyone of those better than the other, and what are the feature differences? Thanks, tg

Re: 12.7 vs 12.6.1
For me, 12.4 is the clear winner here, as long as you don't need the newer video engine or Cloud Collaboration.
