is artist mix broken?

hi
i´m brand new to artist-series and to this forum, too.
few weeks ago, i purchased an artist mix and an artist transport with both i´m very happy in the meantime. i had a lot of problems with the new eucon 3.1 software, but since i´m back to 2.6something, wich was delivered with the artist mix, everything runs quite good, except ONE THING.

the rotary-encoder (pan-pot) on ch4 is not responding anythingt. not in pan-mode, not in eq-mode, not in any other mode. my first thought was, it is broken, but i did the hardwaretest and there the encoder is responding. so it seems to be a software-thing, isn´t it?

is here anyone knowing this problem or having had a similar one? i would appreciate every help for this. thanks a lot and please excuse my english. i hope, i can make you understand.

one question about deleting eucon. is the uninstaller everything to do for that?
what about the prefs or other stuff?

and is it possible to save the individual knob-settings, etc. for my transport-unit? i did a lot of individual settings there.

no, the custom settings in the transport-unit could be excluded. the issue with the 4th encoder was since i only had the artist mix.

is for the "back" ment "top/back" on the left upper side of the unit? does it show something in the display, when powerd on? i tried this, but i couldn´t recognize anything special and unfortunately in case of my encoder problem, nothing happend.

ok, now i had contact with the avid support.
after the hardware-test said everything is ok i was confused.
after the contact with avid, i tried some smaller things but couldn´t get it running. avid thinks it´s a hardware problem though the test didn´t say taht. know i get a new one from my dealer, cause it´s only few weeks old.
