Re: How to \"Bounce/Save\" track as a DATA file/format
WAV is the de-facto standard

Re: How to \"Bounce/Save\" track as a DATA file/format
When they are talking about data they mean as .wav files or .aiff's rather than being presented to them as an audio cd.
basically this means that they don't have to then rip the songs from the audio cd and can just load the files from your media (cd/fw drive etc) so just bounce as normal and compile all the files onto a dvd to give to them.

Re: How to \"Bounce/Save\" track as a DATA file/format
1st thanks for the response from both of you... 2nd, what they are asking me to do, is bounce the tracks as a "Protools" session to a DATA disk, so that they can then open the session on thier "Protools" systems (LE/ HD). I have tried to do this formatting itunes in both WAV. & AIFF. formats (24-bit/96KHz). I would think that in order to give them what they are looking for, it would make sense and be easier to save the sessions on an external drive, DATA stick, something along those lines.
So, please once again help me out with some guidence. Thanks. V/R [email protected] La Forest [email protected] [email protected] |

Re: How to \"Bounce/Save\" track as a DATA file/format
Hi LaForestPoetry18
You are asked to transfer your entire session so they can open/load it as it is. No Bounce or iTunes can help. You have to deliver everything in original format 24-bit/96KHz & all the session data. 1.) If the session you want to transfer is stored on several drives & folders do “Save Session Copy In”. Chose a new destination with enough space. Allow copy of All Audio Files, Fade Files & Session Plug-ins Folder & go. The resulting folder (with all session data) is what you have to transfer on CD/DVD. 2.) Ask them if they have DVD reader & if they do, & you have DVD burner, skip following explanation. (The session is probably too big for one CD. If, than make a new folder (Audio Files 1..) & move/fill it, with 700 MB worth of audio files. Continue till you have everything segmented in appropriate chunks.) 3.) Audio CD format allows only 16bits/44.1kHz audio files (WAV, AIF, SDII..). It’s not what they want. You need to burn your files as DATA Format. This format allows any kind of data (no questions asked) to be copied to CD/DVD. iTunes can’t do that. The best on Mac is Toast. Of course copying to external HD is easiest. Good Luck.

Re: How to \"Bounce/Save\" track as a DATA file/format
Thank you, thank you & thank you. I just told each artist/engineer to give me a 4GB memory stick, and that I would make thier copies that way, all of the tracks are copy-written, so I have no concerns that way.
Thanks again. |
