Default approved quicktime version?

hi all.

HD1, 7.4cs3 on a quad intel mac, 10.4 (not leopard)

i saw today my quicktime version is old (7.1.3), software update of course wants me to go all the way to 7.4 - anyone know if QT7.4 will play nice with protools? i use video in my PT every day all day so i don't want to find any problems. couldn't find any info on the digi site or duc.

thanks

adam
