Default Please suggest a good Virtual Instrument bundle to buy

I can afford to buy only a single Virtual Instrument bundle. I am using Protools MP9 and NI Elements. Please suggest a good Virtual Instrument bundle to buy. How about Native Instruments Komplete 9 or Kontakt 5 or East West Symphony Orchestra collection? Anyother Virtual Instrument suggestions? I want to record music in pop genre. I would like to use Piano, Strings, Sax, Trumpet, Flute, bass guitar, drums in my songs.

Considering what you're looking to do now I'd get Komplete 9 which includes Kontakt 5. Not worth it to just get Kontakt by it's lonesome. EWQLSO is just orchestral instruments; no guitar of any kind and no drum kit - just percussion and orchestral drums. The East West stuff has a great sound but uses it's own playback engine.

I would suggest Komplete 9 which is around £400. You will get the best value there. The east west stuff is good but you need to spend around £800 on the complete composers collection for the equivalent of Native Instruments.

Hope this helps

Robert

+1 for Komplete Ultimate if you wait for a sale. I must say however, if you give XPand2 a try, it really has an incredible amount of very useable stuff in there.

Only with Strings I have issue with Xpand2 & NI Elements, since I am not getting the Articulation I need.

Well, I'm going to suggest the Pro Tools Instrument Expansion Pack from AIR. You get Strike, which I think us a very good virtual drum VI, you can load your own samples, and program every nuance of the performance for each instrument. Transfuser, amazing and fun VI fit loops, making beats and building grooves. Import loops or samples from any source and layer up line mad! Highly versatile and great for pop licks! Velvet- every elec piano and keyboard sound out there! Very nuanced and smooth. Structure, very programmable sample. Cones loaded with good samples, but easy to import your own and edit to your heart's content. And Hybrid, a very versatile analog/digital VI.

I use something from this suite of VIs in 95% of my projects.

The other option I would suggest is Reason 7. Uses Rewire and fully loaded with VIs, FX, and creative elements that are easy to use, and add a huge arsenal of sonic capability.

You couldn't go wrong with either.

Just my 2 cents.
