He approached me from his throne wearing a cape with a big "A" on the chest. He told me he was awaiting my visit.

I told him we needed to speak. We spoke for what felt like 12 hours. We laughed. We cried. We talked of the good old days when Sound Tools reigned supreme and Pro Tools costed thousands to playback merely 4 tracks.

We got drunk. We got giddy. Then I brought up "the issue". "Avid" I said. "We need drivers for some of the older controllers." I mentioned them by name and he paused for second. Pulled out a little remote control that had but one button on it. It was red. How convenient.

He pushed that little button and before I could say "Contr…" I was 300 feet below running for my life on a field of grass being chased by a dozen hungry wolves.

You see. I never did get my answer. But in another way. I think that I did…
Love it

I didn't receive it, though I would welcome any avenue available to share my opinions with Avid.

Anyone here have PT11 installed on a Win7 rig? I would like to ask a few questions.

Though it's easy to vent on these surveys, I recommend they be written in a respectful tone so we know they will be read at HQ and taken seriously. There is usually an "other" section on the surveys where one can communicate how this decision affects them. I hope others in this thread who have decided to pack it in will also do the same. By filling out the survey, our voices will still be heard. These surveys are read, taken seriously, and important for feedback and marketing etc. I will be filling out mine also and continue lobbying for a change on this decision via this outlet.

Thanks for the idea Shane. I filled out the survey this time (that I normally would skip), and took the opportunity to make my feelings known in the comments section of the survey.

At this point, it feels like nothing is going to happen to rectify this absurd abuse of loyal Avid customers, but who knows? Maybe an executive or Product Manager will have an epiphany and do the right and just thing. If not, in my opinion, history will mark this event as the beginning of the end of Pro Tools under Avid's ownership.

Looking at the most recent annual report from 2011 Avid sold approx $95m audio products (HDx & native) and $75m controllers (studio & live). That's around 20,000 PT systems and 3,000 controllers.

Not massive numbers you might say, so with the type of systems the Control 24 & Pro Control have we could add significantly to the 2013 revenue for Avid. If we were just 5% of the PT ie 1,000 more sales that could give more than $4.5m in revenue (for a $5k upgrade), using the numbers above!!!
200 sales would still be about $2m at the very very least.

Come on Avid, are we not worth having another thought?
