Default Alesis MK2 vs. M-audio BX5a deluxe

Which one is most accurate? I think the MK2 has a slightly lower bass response, but which one will give me clarity in a small room?

I think the real question is; which set will be more accurate in your room? I expect the Alesis may have more bottom, which might indeed make things worse in a small and/or untreated room. I also have a friend that has had 2 sets of Alesis(powered version) die on him. In this price range, you might check out the Behringer 2030A's(the 6" woofer, NOT the 2031 with the 8").

I have the Alesis MK2 (Passive) and they are amazing. I really like M-Audio but their Monitors just don´t cut it. the Alesis just feel more straight to me.

Behringer is a gamble, NEVER buy them untested.

and depending on the 'small room' I´rather ceck some small Genelec. The M-Audio and Alesis need some space to punch.
being more Mid-Field than Near-Field. Also for the Alesis they have a really nice sweet spot in the near field area.
But of course the bass is not so accurate when listening close up.

Maybe the likes of Adam ANF10 is more what you need.

best
