Default Bug report: trimming a video file

Hey Digi.

Found a bug you might want to know about.

- In PT 9.0.1, OSX 10.6.6

- Load a quicktime video. In this case, H.264 AAC
- Editing of the video file is disabled (not sure if that's normal but I assume yes)
- attempt to use trimmer tool on the left side of the video region
- Screen draws a yellow outline of the trimmed video, but video does not trim.
- yellow outline sticks on the screen and you can draw as many as you want. They stay regardless of zoom level.

Email me and I can send screenshots.

Cheers
Adam

Actually - I can't MOVE the file video either, which I would say is unacceptable.

9.x can not manipulate anything to a movie
9.xHD or 9.x w/ CPTK can manipulate a movie

Thumbs down Re: Bug report: trimming a video file

It's a real shock to me that moving a video file around in your session is a feature that you have to pay extra for.

Yeah, that's bizarre. Can you Spot it?

A workaround, off the top of my head, is to set the session start time at the same time as the video start time and then import the video to the session.

Not true, you CAN move video anywhere you want in vanilla PT 9. I've done it a few days ago when I needed to split a session into four reels, and in fact, I went to try it right after reading this thread, just to be absolutely sure. You cannot trim/split the video, but you can definitely move it the same way as any audio region. It is the same as it was in PT LE - you needed DV toolkit to enable advanced video functions.

If you can not move the video region, then the problem is in your setup. I'd try trashing preferences, it should cure it.
