How to hear MIDI when playing, not just recording?
Hello all,
I have a Roland Fantom sound module hooked up to my Pro Tools HD system. I have everything linked up correctly (I think)and have channels in Pro Tools corresponding to sounds on the Fantom for a given project. I have audio tracks under each Midi track as well. Here's my issue....I can hear the sound I'm triggering when I enable the record button and press my keyboard note. And, I can hear the sounds when recording a new MIDI or audio track. But, I can not hear anything when playing all the MIDI tracks, with no audio written yet. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT SETTING I MUST DO IN ORDER TO HEAR THE MIDI SOUNDS SIMPLY BY PLAYING THE MIDI DATA when linked to the sound module? -John |

Re: How to hear MIDI when playing, not just record
You can either monitor a track's input while not in record ready by selecting the I between solo and record, or toggle the input mode with alt+k (Windoze) or option+k (Mac)
