PT 8: how to edit while its playing without playback jumping to where you click?

Hello, I just installed Pro Tools M-Powered 8.
I have a question that seems simple but I can't find how to do it.
Right now I have "Link Timeline and Edit Selection" enabled as well as "Link Track and Edit Selection" enabled and "Insertion Follows Playback" disabled.
I would like PT 8 to work like PT 7, in the sense that when the track was playing I could keep editing without interrupting or disrupting playback... in other words if the track was playing I could click anywhere in the track and the track would keep playing...
Right now, on the other hand, if while it's playing I click somewhere else in the track (on a region for example) the playback jumps to where I just clicked...
Basically I would like PT to work as if "Link Timeline and Edit Selection" was disabled, however I also would like PT to go to where I click when I am NOT playing the track and the next time I hit play it should start from there...
Can anyone help me?

go to options > scrolling > no scrolling

Turn off Dynamic Transport.
