Default Power Conditioner choice?

Hi:
I can get the equitech 1R for $800. I'd prefer to spend less, and I'm not sure I need such a high-end one like the equitech.
Any recommendations on a power cond. that's cheaper, still high-quality, preferably one with many, many 'sockets' (like 15 or 20, if that even exists!
I know Furman is very popular, but I don't know which to get if I go with their brand.
Thanks,
Peter
