Default Optimal Performance with 7.4.2 on New(er) Mac Pro

I'm downloading the update now but I'm wondering what I should set the buffers/ comp. usage to in PT once it's up. Here's me rig:
Mac Pro, 2x 2.8 Ghz Quad-core, 10Gb ram, 10.5.3, Digi 003.

Also, has anybody verified that the NEWEST versions of the IK plugs (amplitube, ampeg, etc.) work?
Thx.
