S1: Channel assignment from right to left?
Hi,
per default, the S1 internally defines the order of channels from left to right. This results in channels, parameters, routing controls etc. being assigned from left to right. Everything that is laid out on the S1 starts on the left. Since my S1 sits to my left, I always need to reach out to the controls on the far left when there are only a few tracks / parameters / controls in my current project. Therefore I was wondering if it’s possible to invert the orientation of the S1 to make everything go from right to left (see screenshot), so that all essential controls I need are more closer to me. Like make it from a right hand side device to a left hand side device. Basically invert the whole mapping. Is that somehow possible? If not, can we please get an option to do so? This would make the S1 way more flexible depending on where it is sitting on the desk. Last edited by VSAudioDesign; 01-26-2024 at 12:08 AM. |

In the meantime, you can always create a custom layout for such a thing and keep that layout in a default template. Or, arrange your tracks in pro tools in the order you want them shown on the S1

Re: S1: Channel assignment from right to left?
This would only work for the faders and every time I add a new track I need to manually assign it to a custom layout. Furthermore Banking and Nudging wouldn't work.
Also this does not affect parameters like inserts, panning, routing etc. Like I already said, I want the whole mapping to be inverted, not just the faders. For example: if I edit the panning in Channel mode, the parameters are displayed on the far left (see image). I want them to be on the right side close to me. |
