Default Strange Midi Bug PT 8

Can anyone confirm this little bug I'm seeing?

Record a few things on a midi or instrument track. Do it in a couple places along the timeline. As in, what might be a part that appears in each chorus.

Then, when in "Note" view on the track, select all the notes, and do the command to consolidate the regions. It should consolidate the regions into one continuous midi region. But on my system, it extends the lengths of each midi note. Then lengths off all the notes on the track, get extended way beyond what was played.

But if you switch to "Regions" view, and do the same consolidate regions command, all is well.

Anyone?

Interesting find! i'll check tomorrow when i'm back in the studio.

Just checking, do you have realtime properties on for note length?

Yep in note view it does as you describe.
Joins note lengths.

HD8cs1 PPC 10.5.5
Never consolidated notes though in earlier Pro Tools versions.
Seem like consolidating notes would do just this.
