Pro Tools 12.4 (and older) or 12.5 on Windows 10
Im buying a new beast of a computer which sports windows 10 as its OS. What my question is, which runs more stable for professional operating? If im going to be recording for others I would like to know what currently runs the best on Windows 10.
-12.4 or older without Windows 10 support? -12.5 with Windows 10 support? -Is reinstating my upgrade plan for $400 CAD worth it for the latest updates (Even 12.5.1 or 12.5.2 for bug fixes)? Or are they any more stable on windows 10 in comparison? |

12.3.1 + windows 10 is hands down the best way here.

+1 for 12.4 / Win 10 Pro. Avid's "lack of support" for Win10 was nothing more than BS.

This is great news. I didn't know if 12.4 would run properly and if id be forced to run 12.5. Would there be a difference in stability for 12.4HD vs regular 12.4? |

I will have to try it. Not sure though if I can live without the track freeze function. If it runs more reliably, then I may have to use 12.3.1 though!

"Would there be a difference in stability for 12.4HD vs regular 12.4?"
Probably not. It's the same installer....just a different i-lok asset that "unlocks" the HD features. |

Yes 12.5.1HD here on a fresh install of Win10 and it's been really nice.

Looks like 12.4 is my best option then. Until I decide to reinstate my plan that is. |

Re: Pro Tools 12.4 (and older) or 12.5 on Windows 10
I recently installed PT 10 HD on a fresh install of windows 10. Interesting thing is the installer wouldn't even work with the last few versions of OSX. Haven't put it through it's paces, but am encouraged.
