Default Strange Bug - drag audio to track

The weirdest thing just started happening last night. I'm working on a film, and every time I drag audio to a track in Pro Tools, it changed into a Cicadas and Wind BG I used earlier in the project. Seriously! I swear I'm getting enough sleep. lol

It happens when I drag to a PT track from MiniMiner, the Finder, or Snapper. I actually see the file import to the track, but within 2 seconds the file instantly changes to the audio file with cicadas. (bother the file name and waveform)

The only work around I found is using the 'Send to Clip List' feature of Mini Miner.

Has anyone ever seen this bug? It's a new one too me.

(PT HD 11.2.1, 2012 Mac Pro, MiniMiner/soundminer)

225 views on this thread an no one has ever had this problem?

Every audio file I import gets instantly replaced by a different audio file.

So odd.

You are not alone! Although it was only short-lived for me. I think I did the old "trash preferences" for the fix. Lucien, have you been able to fix it?

Well, thanks. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I thought I was being haunted by the 'Ghost of BG's Past'.

I haven't trashed my prefs yet. I'm working on too tight of a deadline to mess with anything. I'll try that out on Wednesday when I come up for air.

Thanks!!

We have 2x HDX and 2x HD rigs all running 11.2.1 and are all experiencing the same issue? I'll try trashing the prefs.

Instead of dragging why not just import the audio from within PT's import facility? Try that and see how that works. When you import like I said it also allows converting to the session sample rate/bit depth. I don't think dragging does that.

FWIW, I was actually dragging sound fx from the workspace browser, and not the desktop or any other folder.

In my experience, this bug effects any audio imported directly to the timeline; no matter the method.

My workaround has been importing directly to the clip list. Any method that gives you the option of going to the clip list will work. You can drag to the timeline from the clip list.

I am having drag and drop issues here as well.

PT HD 11.2.1
Os 10.9.5

Trying to drag a mono file from Audiofinder or just plain Finder results in a greyed out clip, and the Task Manager reports "Drag from Browser Unknown Error".

Have not trashed prefs, about to do just that, darn it...

And... trashing PT 11 Prefs did there trick.

Let me know whether trashing prefs works for any of you. A more extreme (and time-consuming) solution may require you to trash databases; then if you have any catalogs, say for fx, you would have to rebuild those.
