...re-importing everything (every track) to a new session solved the problem...

Re: Strange Bug - drag audio to track
Trashing prefs fixed my problem for a bit. But the issue has returned. Presently I can drag the selected area of a waveform from the Audiofinder app, but not entire files. If I drag an entire file into PT from AF for the Finder itself, it gets hung up on building the waveform, I have to cancel the selected tasks before importing anything else.

Re: Strange Bug - drag audio to track
Great catch - if it happens again over here, I'll check the task manager to see if anything similar is happening.

Re: Strange Bug - drag audio to track
Just wanted to post that this issue keeps recurring for me. My temp fix is to:
Use PT Prefs to back up all prefs, then trash all prefs Launch Pro Tools, verify that importing works Quit Pro Tools Launch PT Prefs and RESTORE my backed up prefs Relaunch Pro Tools, my prefs are back where I want them and importing files no longer results in hanging tasks with unknown errors. If anyone has suggestions on how to drill down on this, I am all ears. But this herky jerky workaround is doing it for now. |

Re: Strange Bug - drag audio to track
See this ideascale bug for a possible solution:
http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...a-tab-comments I noticed when doing a different kind of audio import using Pro Tools' Field Recorder Workflow, that I would get assertion errors if I had not done a "Clear Find" in the Clips Bin. I don't use the Workspace anymore (deleted those catalogs in favor of SoundMiner HD+), so not sure if this helps here, but it reminded me of this thread.

Re: Strange Bug - drag audio to track
we've been having similar issues with one rig. Dragging from a SFX network drive that is read only. When a file is dragged on to the timeline from the workspace, it looks like it is about to place then turns into a completely different file. Usually the same file until I close and restart then it may be a different file. then after trashing pref and the usual hoops to try and get it back I noticed that if I turned off the automatically copy files on import. the problem would go away. Also weird was in a completely different session dragging some files without unique id's wouldn't copy to the sessions audio files folder even with the automatically copy on import pref selected. anyone with a solution for this?
I also read on the avid site that " The behavior was further modified in v10.3.6. During import, if a file's Unique Identifier (UID) and Date Modified are the same but the name is different, the existing file in the session is automatically used. " Is this still true in 12? it's from this page. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ng/PTSW-163654 |
