Brian,
glad to hear you figured it out. It is a little tricky (you have to boot Pro Tools first then bidule then create an inst or Aux then put the Rewire Plug on that etc etc.
Let me know how it works for you. I am keen to see if other users are getting it working well, it does sem to be a great solution to some VI problems for the time being.

Yeah, I'm going to do an orchestral track tomorrow and see how it works. So far it looks promising. I'm assuming VIs like RMX and Omnisphere can't follow the PT session's tempo if they're running in Bidule? I guess those will just stay inside PT.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Not so sure about that as Rewire will send tempo info so maybe it will work. Let me know.

I have problems with vienna instruments in PT8, after a while of playing, there will be crackles or even complete stop to play any note (don´t know how it would work with 7.4 on my system, since I´m new to PT and started with 8)

working with vienna ensemble in standalone mode does not make such problems
