Default 6.4.1 & MIDI

Anybody having trouble with MIDI LATENCY using 6.4.1 and Reason?

I am.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm using REASON adapted for Digidesign, PT 6.4.1, OS X 10.3.4, on an 867 mhz G4, 1 gig ram, MIX core.

I instantiate the Reason RTAS plugin, hit a key on my midi keyboard, and wait for a luxurious half a second before sound ensues from the soft synth.

OK, here's the next part of my question:

Could my MIDI interface be an issue here (MIDEX 8)?

If I wanted to run to the music store to buy a newer interface for the express purpose of using my well-loved Roland A90 to trigger Reason, could somebody suggest a "zero-latency" interface?

It's not the interface. I'm using a DIGIDESIGN MIDI I/O. and I still get the L A G G I N G.

Hi,

If you are using Reason via ReWire use a smaller hardware buffer setting in the Playback Engine dialog box. This setting will effect the latency you are hearing.
Thanks,
