Default Need to burn a DVD of AC3 files

A mastering engineer is FTPing uncompressed AC3 files to me for approval. Once I've downloaded the files, what program will I need to burn a playable DVD. The DVD that I burn will not have any picture on it, just audio. I want to check the 5.1 as well as the stereo mix.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Greg Frey

The DVD-video dont allow you to have audio only tracks, you need a black video (or any color or image you want!) file with you audio. If you are on mac, DVDStudioPro is the best way to assemble your AC3 audio, MPEG2 video and some menus to play what you want, compile it and burn it. There is some equivalent on PC but I dont use it.

I just went down this road. It is possible to import the AC3 file into DVD Studio Pro along with a jpeg or blank video. You drag them onto the timeline, and stretch the video to match the audio. Then you attach the video/AC3 file to the main menu and set it to auto-play. If all is set correctly it will be possible to burn a disc. When you insert the burned disc the main menu comes up and it auto-plays the AC3 file. I'm leaving out some tricky details I would have to work out in front of the program.

Roxio should really come out with a nice way to burn AC3 and PCM files to DVD for audition.
