Need help converting 88,200 to 44,100
I have a bunch of .wav files that are at 88,200. I have an old PT 5 system. What's the easiest way to convert the files to 44,100? I have access to either a PC or Mac to do the conversion.
Thanks Greg Frey |

BarbaBatch from AudioEase is the "Leatherman" for all things audio. Check it out at http://www.audioease.com/Pages/Barba...rbaBatch4.html
Their SRC is some of the best around.

Good grief, that's expensive. Is that what I'm looking at to get this done?

You can use PT, Cool edit pro, wavelab, or any DAW. Simply import the file and bounce to disk at 44,100, or in cool edit / audition I believe you just save as.

Re: Need help converting 88,200 to 44,100
No need to "bounce to" in PT - just export region as audio file (in the regions list menu). this will save you a ton of time as you can do them all in a batch and it will work "offline" and not in real time. just remember when it asks to select "tweakhead" as the conversion quality.

Yes that's right, I forgot about that. I haven't used that in a while.

But I can't import an 88.2k file into PT5, can I? It certainly won't play back at the right speed. Or does it not matter?

IN PT 5 can you not import audio and convert it on the way in? In 7.4 and 8 I can.

No. He'll need another application. PT5 won't work above 48k.

Wasn't there a PT5 for HD cards? My memory is not at its best anymore but I could swear HD started from PT5...
