New Old Stock Registration
Is there ever a point where you can no longer register hardware/software. I purchased a new old stock system (everything still factory sealed) from a vendor but when attempting to fill out the information from the yellow card, it is stopping me in my tracks with a "The Serial Number Is Not Valid" error and I'm just hoping someone can let me know if it is actually possible to register NOS stock products. Thanks.

Or is this hardware? If it is discontinued hardware, then there's a good chance you can't register it (but there isn't really a need either) If it is software, then contact Avid support. I've run into this before and they will have to manually give you a replacement number to substitute for the now outdated/invalid one. For the most part (that I can think of) the yellow cards have been retired for plastic cards. So I'm guessing this is pretty old. What that mostly means to you is that the web front end currently running doesn't accept the older series of numbers but it is solvable (but only with Avid customer service help)

Re: New Old Stock Registration
BScout,
Thanks of the correction on the forum, as I saw licensing & accounts. I was working on both and got the software taken care of, so now it is strictly hardware. If this needs to be moved, that works for me. I just put a registration case in just to see what they say and I will see what happens. Thanks again |

Re: New Old Stock Registration
I didn't want to create a new thread so I will just bump this, as it is along the same lines. Is there anyway to check the validity of an upgrade activation code? I already have a ticket open but didn't know if it was something that I need to look out for or if there was something on the backend that could cause an issue.

Only Avid can tell you.

Re: New Old Stock Registration
I recently bought a used Artist Mix, and it came like new in the box with a registration card, so I thought I might as well try, in case it had never been registered.
I found the registration page, entered the serial number and got this: Skjermbilde 2022-06-03 kl. 22.52.55.png That link took me to a 'Knowledgebase' download page for user guides. Pointless. And this is not the first time that avid site has proved dysfunctional to me. Far from it.
