Generating mtc in pt8 (le)
I upgraded from 7.4 to 8 seamlessly. Except for this. I have never had any sync issues, but i cannot get my MPC to slave to PT8 for my life!
Can anybody give me a step by step (im sure its super easy) breakdown on generating MTC? Obviously Ive enabled the "GEN MTC", and my midi studio is set up blah blah blah. Mind you ive been doing this for YEARS.....but for some reason i cant get PT8 to send mtc to my Akai. Thanks in advance for any advice or direction. I have a DIGI 003 and im running PT8 on an Imac if you need this info. |

Re: Generating mtc in pt8 (le)
Same experience. Upgrade from 7.4 to 8.0 was seamless. However, PT 8.0 doesn't appear to generate MTC. There used to be a checkbox on one of the advanced 'sync' panes available on the Session Window, which had to be selected before PT would generate MTC over the configured peripheral. This checkbox is no longer available. This is a real show-stopper for me - I use MTC/SMPTE to sync my analog 8-track.
I have a Digi 002, with PT 8.0 running on Windows XP SP3 |

Re: Generating mtc in pt8 (le)
Check pg 101 of the new Pro Tools reference guide, I think there have been some changes to sync etc.

go under VIEW and make sure Sync is checked, it wil then show up on the transport. You have to clik on it to activate it

Re: Generating mtc in pt8 (le)
Hi all,
Thanks for the response. Didn't see that in the reference guide. Selecting the 'Sync' option causes a new 'GEN MTC' button to appear on the transport. Just what I'd been looking for. I can confirm that MTC generation now OK. Thanks. David |

You're running almost the same setup I am(I'm using a dual 1.25G4 with the 002), but I haven't gone to 8 yet. How is that working out for you?
