Default Any Special Config needed for Dual Xeons

I've been getting lock ups, error messages and a host of other annoying set backs while running sessions. I'm at the point where I'm going to write my System Drive to Zero's and fully erase everything, and then just start from scratch. I was told that Xeon's need some kind of special attention or configuration, if anyone know's what this is or how to do this, please let me know--

thanks,

lonnie
