Well on a good note; Sonnox has (finally) released the two AAX-DSP PI's.

Awesome news roll on McDSP and the rest of the Sonnox!

I also asked Brainworx re the new AMp sim is it AAX DSP they said just AAX Native right now but I quote "We are currently working on AAX DSP support and will announce according info about that soon"

I'm just updating a HDX today to 10.2 so I'll give these a whirl and see how many & bands you get to a chip re the Sonnox.

I have been waiting for SONNEX to release AAX DSP I really like there stuff.
Really $160 to upgrade that sucks. But what makes it even worse is they don't have enough AAX DSP to bundle and save thats a real bummer.
Truth be told when I started on PT I didn't have any good plugs so a friend of mine gave me a burnt cd with a bunch of sonnex on there. I used it for almost a year before I even knew it wasn't allowed !!!! So Sonnox get more AAX DSP and I will buy them this time,
In case anyone is wondering I will buy all the plugs I used. I would have bought them a while ago if it were not for AAX. Im going to buy 2 WAVES plugs today in about 15 minutes so I can put that behind me. Waves sorry I would have bought Diamond or Horizon because there was enough good plugs to make it worth it but honestly I only ever used 4/5 waves plugs . But Sonnox I like all of there plugs I demo,d from them and plan to buy them all in due time when AAX DSP is available.
I know I probably shouldn't be saying this but I was very new and didn't know any better but I am buying all the plugs I will use even if waves doesn't go DSP
Quote from WAVES web sit Pro Tools 10 Support
June 2012
Waves V8 and V9 plugins are supported on Pro Tools 10 via RTAS, AudioSuite, and TDM.
AAX is not officially supported at this time; AAX Native will be supported at a later date.
There are no plans for AAX DSP support.
They would have got $3000 from me.

Wrong. At the current exchange rate it's $142.00 US.
Very reasonable for a plug that retails at $600.00

Did you expect it to be free? ......
Oh, yeah looks like you did. Maybe you can find a "burnt cd with a bunch of sonnex on there..."

Surely that's up to the plugin vendors to decide (and will vary depending on their codebase)?

If you earn money with it - it is a perfectly reasonable cost.
Sonnox make great sounding plugs and their automation is SUPER reliable - which is why I use them.

cheers

By the way: does anyone know how to enable/purchase the "Sonnox Oxford EQ GML Option" on the EQ? Is that a separate license that needs to be purchased? It's definitely not bundled in...and I cannot find the "buy/upgrade" button on Sonnox's website. Though the AAX-DSP version should exist.

Its a new licence which requires surrender of a HDX R3 EQ license.

GML Option for Oxford EQ
