ASIO4ALL help

I recently used ASIO4ALL to be able to run PT11 on my Laptop with WINDOWS 8. Unfortunately, I cannot use the laptop's input jack to record. Might anyone be able to assist with this? Is it possible to use the laptop's internal sound card for recording audio?

You really need to describe more clearly what you are trying to do. What exact laptop. What exact input? if a Microphone what exact mic. What exactly is plugged into what with what cable, etc. A Sandra report might help. Posting screenshots of your ASIO4ALL config screens, and Pro Tools IO input tab definitely would. And what exactly happens when you try to do this? Start at the "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!" above on this Web page.

Just a quick guess - if you didn't install the ASIO4ALL Offline Settings app when installing the driver, install that. It's easier to use than changing the settings when ASIO4ALL is running with PT. Open the offline settings app and to get the expanded configuration click on the wrench. Then you can select which inputs and outputs from your onboard audio device that will be presented by ASIO4ALL, i.e. mine is IDT and you can select the line in and/or the mic for input(s).
