Default LE Music Production Toolkits: Useful for HD???

I was just checking out the Music Production Toolkit ($495) for LE systems and it got me thinking that it would be pretty sweet for my HD rig too. I don't have TL Space and the new Hybrid synthesizer looks nice.

Comes with these plugins:
- Digidesign Hybrid synthesizer
- TL Space™ Native Edition convolution reverb
- Smack!™ LE compressor/limiter
- SoundReplacer™ drum replacement tool
- DINR™ LE intelligent noise reduction tool

All for $495.00.

I wonder if us HD users can use it? Is there such a thing as LE only plugins? Anyone else thinking of getting this?

LE plug-ins are just RTAS, and sometimes AS also...no TDM. (despite what the PT LE product info page on Digi main site aludes to )

TL Space is awesome, my (current) fav convo verb (ReVibe is my fav verb still). But, one reason I really like TL Space is due to using the TDM version- totally cool!

Smack is sweet as well...but, I prefer TDM for any plugin I can get

if you have 2 rigs (1 hd 1 le) it'll be well worthy...
you'll be able to use the music toolkit to enable features and take the plug-ins assets to your HDs iLok...
but except of Hybrid & Sound Replacer the other plug-ins has
TDM counterparts which make them much better for HD.

TL Space true advantage is TDM. IR1 is cool & there are tons of great IR based reverbs but the TDM makes it powerful. reverbs are the worst native dsp enemy IMHO. synths also takes heavy loading but still reverbs are the last thing you'd like to "freeze" / print.

i'm thinking i'll be able to do a whole lot more on my laptop
out-of-studio .. so i'm definately going for it. probably about
80%-90% of the projects are 48 tracks or under .. the 32 track limit
was a little too tight in the collar.

ps: think this is giving the steinbergs and the sony's sleep
terrors?

i haven't used the trillium one, but i'm very happy with the IR-1.. i think the combination
of the plug-in and the excellent (and growing) impulse library at acoustics.net makes for
a very good combination. i had heard some horror stories about how CPU intensive it was
(oooh ... it'll peg your CPU) but this hasn't turned out to be the case .. and with the
ability to dial how CPU intensive you want it to be, you can sort let the punishment
fit the crime (so to speak). sonically, i don't hear any difference between the hardware
assisted versions (TDM or APA) and a pure software version .. frankly, i'd be surprised
if i did (given the nature of convolution).

and speaking of waves ... i'm pre-drooling over this one:
Waves SSL plug-ins

that, and analog channel and i'll be right back where i started ;-)
