Default MBox2 won't be recognized

Hello, I've just installed my old pro tools 7 le on my new mac, with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and a memory of 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3. It's got 230.33 available gigs. Pro Tools installed successfully but it won't recognize the mBox2 and therefor won't open. I connected it with a usb like I've always done. Any suggestions!?

I suggest you ask this question in the "Pro Tools LE & M-Powered Native Systems"-Departement

Is Pro tools LE 7 qualified for Snow Leopard? Doesn't appear that it is:

I think you need at least PT8.0.3 - you'd probably be better off with PT9. As an MBox 2 owner you qualify for the PTLE-PT9 crossgrade discount:

Pro Tools 8.0.3 is the first qualified version of Pro Tools for Snow Leopard (10.6.x).

Something tells me your Mac isn't so "new" since it is a C2D with only 2GB of RAM. You're going to want to upgrade to at least 4GB to get decent performance from Pro Tools. 2GB is bare minimum requirement.

promixr, thanks for replying! All I want is the minimum package to work on my computer. I don't have anywhere near $249. Is there an upgrade I can get for free as a Pro Tools 7 owner that would let me run the mBox2? Do you know the link? Thanks!

No because 8 was a paid upgrade as well for 7 users. You are going to have to upgrade Pro Tools in order to use it on your system. Sorry.
