Old man wrist/Pen?/Programable Mouse?
Glad still exists! Been over a decade since I was here last.
I'm not young anymore. The mouse is killing my wrist. Anybody use a stylus for recording/mixing audio? Or recommend a programmable mouse that doesn't kill the wrist? |

You might think about seeing an occupational therapist once or twice. You probably won't solve the problem immediately, but a good OT can help you understand how that part of your body is working and put you on the road to solving it for yourself. You might need to stretch (carefully) or adjust seat height or any number of things. I hope you get good ideas from this thread, but it's important to remember that one size definitely does not fit all. Good luck. It's no fun when what you do for a living causes so much pain. |

Re: Old man wrist/Pen?/Programable Mouse?
I have moderate to severe osteoarthritis in the base of my right thumb from decades of mouse use.
A few things that have helped me: 1. Logitech MX Vertical Ergonomic Mouse. It takes getting used to but has been a game changer for me. 2. An Apple trackpad I use with my other hand to give my mouse hand a break. 3. Soundflow with Streamdeck to reduce repetitive mouse tasks. 4. Physiotherapy has really helped. 5. Volterol for when it gets really bad! As Michael says though, we’re all different!

Re: Old man wrist/Pen?/Programable Mouse?
I switched to a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro mouse about a year ago and my wrist is much better.

I switched to trackpad two years ago. It takes the mouse weight off your hand, working for me so far.

Vertical mouse here too.
You might have to try a couple to find one that fits your hand/posture.
