non protools I/o recognized with mbox 2 plugged in

I have a small studio, running nuendo, with a symphony card out to 2 ad-16x'. Also attached to the same computer (power mac G5, running 10,4,10) is an mbox2 mini. What I would like to do is be able to see the symphony i/o inside of protools when I have the mbox2 attached.

Is this possible? I know they make expansion cards for the ad-16x, but it is not possible to spend almost 10k to upgrade to HD at this time.
