Default Autotune issues w/ PT9

So I recently upgraded to PT9 and for some odd reason during halftime of the Superbowl, my TV was inundated excessive amounts of extreme autotuning... to the point that I had to change the channel. After halftime everything was back to normal.

The weird thing is that I don't even own Autotune... anyone else have this issue?

Autotune has become a "creative" tool.

Wow. I actually lolled there!! On a related note, my band was in a Super Bowl commercial last year.

Indeed! Sadly, I was annoyed by the mix even more than the tuning

Mix WAS awful. But the halftime message is what was important.

L-O-|-E

On an unrelated note, the "Super 8" trailer that I worked on was played during the commercials :)

We have clients in the studio from time to time that want AutoTune pushed all the way to stupid. Sometimes it's very funny.

Just because I have to.

My guy Dylan Dresdow mixed that show, and I know for a fact that it did not sound like that when it left his studio. Fox and the incompetent sound crew and Dallas Stadium absolutely turned the sound to [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]!

That doesn't excuse the complete lack of energy and showmanship that I have seen from the Peas over the past 12 years, but Damn... that show sucked and the sound was a big part of it.

It wasn't live?

Doesn't anyone know what reverb or delay on a vocal can do?

No, That is part of why it sucked. They usually play with a live band, which when they were coming up was the reason they were so dope. That show was them singing to tracks. I am not saying that the live engineer didn't do a bad job, just that I am sure the music sounded better then it was translated through whatever Big D did to it.

Being an Eagles fan it is not hard to believe, since Dallas sucks at most things football related.

Very true. Unless, of course, they're actually playing the EaGals.

(sorry...just couldn't resist)
