compared to what? They're the best Digi has put on an LE interface so far, and they sound pretty good to me.

Thats what i thought,
i tried it out and thought it sounded great. I ended up putting a deposit on it to buy early next year and now a lot of what ive been reading on forums say that the converters and pre's are very average.

I think the general consensus is you have to spend about 500US (ie the RNP) to get pre's that are better.

I'm not so sure there as good as advertised. a local store (that sells both) did a fairly "scientific" comparison with the 002r and a digimaxLT and they concluded that the converter/pre combo was still more pleasing in the digimax.

certainly an opinion, as I believe the 002 is surely useable (as apposed to our 001's pre's) but I did think it was still an interesting outcome. I posted a survey of veteran 001 users who upgraded to 002's and got some replies. still not enough folks replied to get a fair census, but It was informative as too the 002's level of upgrade compared to other devices.
