Re: HD Native online record delay
Hello,
We found a portion of the issue. The Madi HD needed a firmware update which brought the online record start times after a long record pass down to between 40 and 60 seconds, occasionally going to above a minute. This has been tested numerous times and I've also had a number of tests done with four TDM systems where the restart times after a long record pass are comparable. Avid was quick to respond to the issue once I had a help code. They performed some tests for me but there wasn't anything they could do. We exchanged several phone calls and emails and once the firmware update cut the times down to a minute or less the communication dried up. Unfortunately we may have spent the money on an HD Native system needlessly - PT does not provide the near-instant lockup I've come to expect while recording and chasing code. In live television having to "roll tape" quickly is a common requirement and no recent version of PT will do it after recording for a while. Sincerely, Hugh |
