Default Profire 2626 problems, about to give up.

Hey all.

So as the title says I'm going to buy a new interface if I can't get this one to work by monday/tuesday next week.
Wasting too much time trying to get this thing to work.

Details: Profire 2626
Texas Instruments chipset Firewire card
Windows 7

So it randomly stopped working the other morning.
The night before it worked as usual, never had a problem with it.
Recently started working on windows 7 from XP with a new system but the same firewire card, it has been great up until now.

Turned everything on as usual, profire wouldn't be recognized.
Tried 10 times, nothing.
Uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled.
Nothing.
Put the firewire card in my older computer, nothing, uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing.

Got a new firewire cable, same thing happened.

Formatted my computer, installed drivers, nothing.

Plugged it into a laptop and it showed up working as usual except there is no output and it doesn't register if anything is played inside a DAW or regular audio player.
Registers mic input, but thats it.

So stumped, how can this just randomly happen.

Sounds like a bad firewire card? Have you ever hotplugged the ProFire from either the computer or the interface?

There's only one constant in all your troubleshooting - The firewire card.

I'm having the same issue on my Mac. Suddenly PT11 can't see the ProFire 2626. PT 10 sees it just fine and PT 11 was working a couple of days ago.

This might be a different problem. I had this issue in windows when I installed the 11 demo. I had to disable my profire in the windows sound manager in order for 11 to see it. It worked in 10 but not 11. I'm not sure if its a similar problem on a Mac, I didn't have a chance to try 11 on mine. I also recently had my FireWire card crap out on me as well (prior to this problem) where it would work perfect, then suddenly quit. The card was recognized (at least for a while) but wouldn't always connect. Then it just died. Both annoying problems.

Beware that faulty brand new fire-wire cables are common.
