Hello, I'm Stefano from Italy - I would like to know if it is possible to use the 888/16 in standalone mode. Thanks for replying

Re: 888/16 standalone
The 888/16 is an interface, which means it connects 1 thing to another. In this case it connects your audio to your computer, and vice versa.
So if you use it by itself, it's just a box that doesn't do anything. You can use it without ProTools if you'd like, but you're still going to need Digidesign hardware connected to it.

Re: 888/16 standalone
On the contrary, it is possible. It will convert 8 channels of analog to AES/EBU. It defaults to 48k. If you want 44.1, you have to move a jumper inside. It will likewise convert 8 channels of AES/EBU (48 or 44.1, no internal fiddling necessary) to analog.
