Sony EQ - iLok.com upgrade warning

For those of you who have not yet purchased the upgrade from Sony for the PT7 R3EQ upgrade...

After payment processes on Sony's website, you will go back to iLok.com

DO NOT do as I did, which is click on "download licenses" -- I did this and I had all kinds of error messages -- partly because iLok.com needs to retrieve the old Sony license...

Instead, you should click on "you've got new licenses" from the main page, and then ilok.com will re-synch your ilok, and then the process works fine.

The error occured because the "download" page does not require a re-synch (whereas the "you've got licenses" page does)

I have sent this to ilok support - but in case this helps one person, I thought I'd share...

Interesting point. I out of habit and morbid fear of losing an asset while transferring always first sync, then download. That way iLok has a point in time of my assets. I didn't realise the danger of downloading without syncing. Too bad you had to be the one that discovered this.
