Default g5 with digirack can give you firewire problems

i bought a g5 and a digi002 rack about a month ago.
when i hooked up digi at the front of my g5 it worked perfect but when i tried it on the back it´s just disconnecting or giving me "increase buffersize" problems.
i contacted digi support and got the answer:

"We have heard of this happening with some G5 models. Since the
Digi002 is working fine on the front port, but not at the back it is
an G5 issue. Please refer to Apple regarding a solution to your
problem".
so i got a apple service place to change the "motherboard". that didn´t solve the problem so they tried installing new firewire cards or controllers (cant remember) but that did nothing either.

so here i am with just one firewire port workin with digi and its the one at the front. as long as it works i guess its ok but if something happends to that port, and since its at the front you could accidentally kick it with your feet for instance, i´m f*****.

anyone else had this problem?
and of course, if your planning on buying this setup, check this issue out first!!

Since the PowerMac G5 was introduced, there have been reports here that the front Firewire port works correctly, and the rear doesn't.

It sounds like Apple's problem to me.

well, maybee it is an apple issue, its just frustating when you buy some new stuff and then theres compability problems. maybee i should have checked it up better then i did when i bought it, but you have to trust your dealer to i think.
