Hardware not being recognized on new install
I just upgraded a PT 24 system to 6.1 TDM in a G4/933 Quicksilver with Mac OS X 10.2 My attempt to open PT is met with 'Hardware not connected - please turn on" -
Is the slot order from top to bottom, or from bottom to top? I have 2 cards and 3 882 IO's - any thoughts? It worked great in my old computer. Gary Rowles |

Re: Hardware not being recognized on new install
Hi,
I can only suggest re-installing the PT software and stripping the system back to basics to start with, just the core card and one interface first then introduce the other cards/interfaces once you're running. use you installer and select uninstall, reboot then re-install and try again. Chris

Re: Hardware not being recognized on new install
Quote:
According to the G4 Quicksilver Manual, the slot order is: 1) AGP graphics 2–5) PCI The slots are marked (numbered) on the motherboard. Now, before re-installing software, I would try and re-seat all cards, RAM and cables. Also, I would trash and delete DAE, Digi Setup, and PT preference files. Good luck. IHTH. .

Re: Hardware not being recognized on new install
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i have tried every OS from Beta, to Tiger and I have the same problem with my Pro Tools 24 system that works fine in os9 on my quicksilver. 5 dsp farms and 2 d24's. good luck.

Re: Hardware not being recognized on new install
This is interesting - and frustrating. No matter how I move things, or strip things down, it still won't see the hardware. D24 LED is red, farm is green - When I run Digitest, I only get results on the D24 - the farm card doesn't show.
Does anyone else have a 933 quicksilver and PT 24 running on OS X 10.2? This is my introduction to OS X - so far it's beautiful, but if I can't use it, I need to know sooner rather than later. I could go back to OS 9 TIA for comments and advice. Gary Rowles |

Re: Hardware not being recognized on new install
You keep saying OS X 10.2
Are you running Mac OS 10.2.6 or 10.2.8 ? All other versions are not compatible, according to the compato docs
